What Is Lunacy?
Lunacy (by Icons8) is a completely free graphic design tool for personal and commercial use, with the free plan including 10 cloud docs and 3 team members — limits apply only to extra cloud storage, team collaboration scale, and the Icons8 asset library. Paid add-ons include a Graphics Subscription ($9.99/month or $95.99/year) for unlimited attribution-free asset downloads plus AI features like background removal and smart upscaling, and a Personal Cloud Subscription ($4.99/month or $47.99/year) that removes free-account limits and enables recovering older file versions or deleted files.
Its genuinely unrestricted free commercial use is a meaningful differentiator specifically compared to many "free" design tools that either watermark output or restrict commercial usage — Lunacy's core design functionality remains completely free for commercial projects, with paid tiers adding convenience features (unlimited asset downloads, extended file history) rather than gating core editing capability.
It's aimed at designers and small teams wanting genuinely free graphic design software for both personal and commercial work, with the affordable paid add-ons ($4.99-9.99/month) providing optional convenience upgrades — extended cloud storage, asset library access, AI features — rather than being required for basic commercial design work.
