What Is Recut AI?
Recut is a desktop video editing tool that automatically detects and removes silence from recordings, identifying silent segments and exporting XML timelines to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, ScreenFlow, or CapCut. Pricing includes a $129 lifetime license or subscription options at $15/month (monthly) or $7.80/month (annual billing), available on Mac and Windows.
Its focus on a single, well-executed task — automated silence removal with direct export into professional editing software — is a genuinely practical choice for podcast and interview editors specifically, since it accelerates the tedious initial editing phase without requiring users to abandon their existing professional editing workflow in DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro.
It's aimed at video and podcast producers who frequently record long-form content and want automated silence removal integrated into their existing professional NLE workflow, with the $129 lifetime license offering a genuinely attractive one-time-cost alternative to ongoing subscriptions for anyone confident they'll use the tool long-term rather than just occasionally. See our Video tools directory for related tools like Descript and Recast Studio.
