Several sources put the Core Commerce edition at about $40,000 a year, one saying three independent sources agree, while another lists from $50,000 a year and notes that AWS Marketplace lists a 12-month contract from $50,000. Enterprise estimates vary widely: one says $250K to $2M-plus annually, another says large contracts reach six figures a year.

CostBench lists monthly prices (Core Commerce $3,333, Foundry $8,333, Premium $12,500 and Enterprise Custom $25,000) and then labels them yearly in its summary, which is inconsistent with the $40,000 figure elsewhere, so the monthly reading matches the other sources and the headline looks like a unit error. One analysis says commercetools charges a per-project licence fee, so a five-brand retailer means five projects and five licence tiers. Another says initial discounts are 15% to 30% off list and that one-year terms cost a 20% to 30% premium over the standard three-year term. Implementation, integrations and front-end builds add to the total.
