What Is Jenni AI?
Jenni AI is an AI academic writing assistant that helps researchers and students draft papers with in-line citations, used by more than 3 million students worldwide as of 2026. Its current pricing structure is a three-tier model: Free, Plus at $12/month, and Pro at $29/month, though some third-party sources still cite older reference pricing (Free at 200 AI words/day, paid tier around $20/month or $144/year) — the official Jenni pricing page reflects the newer $12/$29 structure and should be treated as authoritative.
Its core value is genuinely useful for the academic writing use case specifically: combining autocomplete-style drafting assistance with in-line citation generation, PDF upload for source-grounded writing, AI-powered editing, and AI chat — addressing the citation and source-tracking friction that makes AI writing tools risky for academic work when citations aren't properly grounded.
It's aimed at students and researchers needing AI-assisted academic writing with proper citation support, with the free tier covering limited daily usage while Plus and Pro unlock autocomplete, PDF upload, AI edit, AI chat, and higher review limits — worth checking the official pricing page directly given some inconsistency in reported rates across review sites.
