What Is Isomorphic Labs?

Isomorphic Labs is an AI drug discovery company that grew out of Google DeepMind. Its core product is IsoDDE, the Isomorphic Drug Design Engine, which builds on AlphaFold 3, the biomolecule structure prediction model that DeepMind and Isomorphic released in May 2024. The company does not sell software. It works with large drugmakers and develops its own programs.

Funding has been huge. In May 2026 it reported a $2.1 billion Series B led by Thrive Capital, with Alphabet, GV, MGX, Temasek, CapitalG and the UK Sovereign AI Fund taking part. One report says it is now in talks at a valuation of at least $40 billion, which is unconfirmed. In January 2024 it signed deals with Eli Lilly, with $45 million upfront and up to about $1.7 billion in milestones, and Novartis, with $37.5 million upfront and up to $1.2 billion, and Novartis later expanded its collaboration. One source also lists Johnson & Johnson as a partner, but that was not corroborated. Importantly, Isomorphic has not released clinical data or dosed a patient, and plans first-in-human trials by the end of 2026.

Isomorphic suits pharma companies and investors who want exposure to frontier AI drug design. Compare Insilico Medicine, Recursion and Schrödinger. Browse the Healthcare tools directory for more.
