What Is vLex Vincent?
Vincent is vLex's AI legal research assistant. It launched in October 2023 as an LLM-based assistant that can analyse documents, extract and summarise information and draft documents. It draws on a library of over a billion documents across more than 110 jurisdictions, supports cross-jurisdictional research, and can analyse audio and video. Clio says Am Law 100 firms, courts and law societies use it, and it has added Vincent Studio so large firms can tailor how Vincent works across their organisation.
The company behind it changed hands. Clio agreed in mid-2025 to buy vLex for about $1 billion in cash and stock, and Folio3 reports the purchase completed in November 2025 alongside a $500 million Series G round at a $5 billion valuation. Clio describes the combination as the Intelligent Legal Work Platform, pairing practice management with Vincent AI.
