What it is

Muse Spark is the first model in Meta Superintelligence Labs' Muse family — Meta's first proprietary, closed-weight flagship, and a departure from the open-weight Llama line. It launched on April 8, 2026; the current version, Muse Spark 1.3, followed on September 2, 2026. It is a multimodal reasoning model for tool use, visual reasoning, coding and multi-agent workflows.

Specs and access

Muse Spark 1.3 has a 1M-token context window, accepts text, image, audio and video input, and produces text. It powers the Meta AI app and website and is available to developers through the Meta Model API and Muse Code, Meta's terminal coding agent. API pricing is about $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens.

The wider Muse family

Meta's newest open-weight model is Muse Glimmer 30B (August 10, 2026, Apache 2.0), distilled from Muse Spark. Meta has said it hopes to open-source future versions of the flagship model.

Where this information comes from

Details come from Meta's announcements and third-party trackers. Meta's own scorecard reports strong coding and long-context retrieval results, but no independently verified benchmark figures are shown here yet.
