What Is 2short.ai?
2short.ai is a web tool that turns long YouTube videos into vertical shorts using AI to find the best moments. 2short's own pricing page, read directly, shows dollar prices per month with no currency code and no annual pricing. Starter is free with 30 minutes of AI video analysis a month, though the home page says 15 minutes, so the two conflict. Lite is $9.90 a month with 5 hours of analysis, 60 minutes of fast server-side exports, imports from Google Drive and public URLs and no ads. Pro is $19.90, marked most popular, with 15 hours and unlimited fast exports, and Premium is $49.90 with 50 hours, priority support and early beta features. All plans list centre-stage face tracking, one-click animated subtitles, unlimited 1080p exports with no watermark, vertical, square and horizontal ratios, cropping and brand presets.
The FAQ says the AI analysis only works on videos with captions, with YouTube auto-captions accepted, and about 27 languages are listed. Input comes from YouTube links, Google Drive or public URLs and output targets YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Reels through the web app. The site credits a solo maker, shows a what's new banner for Drive import and no shutdown notice or copyright year, and no ownership or acquisition news appeared. Analysis hours drive cost, so a creator posting weekly long videos can stay on the free or Lite tier.
2short.ai suits solo creators repurposing long YouTube content. Compare Opus Clip, Choppity and Submagic. Browse the Social Media tools directory for more.
