The Open Source edition is free to self-host, Starter is about $100 a month with five users included and $6 per extra user, Pro is about $575 a month with 10 users included and $12 per extra user, and Enterprise is custom starting around $20,000 a year. Annual billing takes about 10% off base fees. CostBench lists Starter at $85 per user and Pro at $500 flat, which does not match the others, so I would discount it.
Several sources say embedded analytics, row-level security and SSO sit behind Pro, with no middle tier between Starter and Pro, and one says Enterprise has the same features as Pro plus support and deployment options such as a one-day SLA and air-gapped deployment. On licensing, Metabase's own page says the Open Source Edition is under the AGPL while the GitHub repo says commercial editions use a separate Metabase Commercial Software License. That page is over five years old, so terms may have changed. Secondary sources say embedding Metabase in a customer-facing product means following AGPL source-sharing, buying a commercial licence or keeping the Powered by Metabase badge, so check the current terms.
