What Is Power BI?
Power BI is Microsoft's business analytics service, with Copilot for natural-language analysis. The most recent sources put the 2026 prices at Pro $14 per user per month and Premium Per User (PPU) $24, both billed annually, noting Microsoft raised them in April 2025 from $10 and $20. Some older 2026 pages still list $10 and $20. A free tier exists for individual use per one costbench headline.
Features differ by licence. PPU covers the Pro features, so a PPU user does not also need Pro, and it adds larger models of 100 GB, 48 daily refreshes, paginated reports, deployment pipelines and AI and Copilot features. Copilot needs either PPU or a Fabric F64-or-larger capacity at about $5,250 a month. F64 prices vary by source from about $5,003 to $5,259 a month depending on reserved or pay-as-you-go, and at F64 and above viewers need no paid licence. Power BI Premium P1 to P5 are retiring at the end of each customer's agreement term with no new sales, and Fabric F SKUs replace them. These are third-party figures, so confirm with Microsoft.
