In June 2025 Meta invested $14.3 billion, which valued the startup at more than $29 billion including the money raised, and co-founder and CEO Alexandr Wang left to join Meta's AI efforts. Jason Droege served as interim CEO, and one later secondary source says Francis deSouza, the former Google Cloud COO, became permanent CEO effective August 10, 2026, which I could not verify against Scale's own announcement. Several 2026 pages say the valuation has not changed, but those are low-authority valuation blogs.
The July 2025 layoffs are the best-supported item: one roundup says about 200 full-time employees, roughly 14% of the workforce, were cut and work with 500 global contractors ended, largely in data labeling. The same roundup says a claim of thousands of layoffs in 2026 conflates a separate Meta job cut, and I found no primary confirmation of 2026 layoffs. Revenue figures come from secondary blogs citing $870 million in 2024 and about $1 billion in 2025, and one table calls 2026 guidance of $1 billion plus down year over year, which conflicts with other wording, so treat them as unverified. I found no reliable pricing; Scale is sold through sales conversations.
