WPML

WPML is a multilingual plugin for WordPress, from OnTheGoSystems, with built-in AI translation on higher tiers. WPML's own purchase page, read at its app address after a redirect, shows euro prices without stating a billing period, though every account includes a year of support and updates and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Multilingual Blog is €39 for 1 production site and 3 development sites with no AI translation. Multilingual CMS is €99, marked most popular, for 3 production sites and 9 development sites with 22,500 AI translation words. Multilingual Agency is €199 for unlimited sites with 45,000 AI words. Included words are topped up at each renewal and never expire, unused prepaid AI words are refundable within 30 days, and the FAQ implies yearly renewal. There is no free tier or trial.

CMS and Agency add the Advanced Translation Editor, string translation, translation management, page builder, menu, WooCommerce and full-site editing support and translation service integration, plus software translation. The FAQ says WPML uses its own translation engine and can also use DeepL, Google Translate or Microsoft Translator. Without renewal the plugin keeps working and translations keep showing, but you cannot update to new versions. WPML works with WordPress 6.0 or later, the footer reads OnTheGoSystems Limited 2026 and the page advertises 24/7 support in 14 languages, with no acquisition. The Blog tier lacks AI and the editor, so most sites need CMS or above.

WPML suits WordPress agencies and businesses building full multilingual sites. Compare TranslatePress, Weglot and GTranslate. Browse the Translation & Language tools directory for more.
