What Is Voicegain?
Voicegain is a speech recognition platform and set of APIs for developers, deployable in the cloud or at the Edge on-premises. Voicegain's own pricing section, read directly, offers a $50 credit with no card to start. Cloud usage is $0.00020 per second of audio, about $0.72 an hour by my arithmetic, with a six-second minimum per request, and volume and term commitments lower the rate. Edge deployments are licensed per port per month with a quote, and Enterprise is custom. The page shows no separate AI add-on pricing. A separate developer pricing page shows a different structure, an offline basic tier at $0.0015 per minute and real-time transcription at $0.20 an hour, and an older PyPI listing quotes one cent a minute offline and 1.25 cents real-time, so I could not tell which is current, and the main page figure is the one to start with.
Edge is an active offering: Voicegain's GitHub repository says the platform can be deployed at the Edge, with its latest listed release 1.134.0 dated May 2026, and a third-party review says Edge supports private clouds, customer datacentres, Kubernetes and air-gapped installs. Edge pricing includes a low annual fixed cost plus variable cost, per the developer page, with session or port-based pricing and annual support fees, and exact figures need a quote. That makes it a fit for regulated settings where audio cannot leave your network.
Voicegain suits developers and enterprises needing speech recognition with on-premises or air-gapped options. Compare Speechmatics, Gladia and Deepgram. Browse the Speech & Transcription tools directory for more.
